Electrician - Heating Controls

What we are looking for:
This is a key role supporting our boiler, air conditioning, heat pump, and solar engineers, delivering high-quality electrical installations, fault-finding, and system integrations across domestic and commercial projects. You’ll work at the heart of both traditional heating systems and modern renewable technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out electrical installations, testing, and maintenance for heating and renewable energy systems
- Provide electrical support to boiler, AC, heat pump, and solar engineers
- Install and configure heating controls, including spurs, thermostats, S-plan & Y-plan systems and full system wiring
- Assist with electrical supplies and connections for electric boilers (liaising with suppliers and ensuring compliant installations), air conditioning units, heat pumps and solar PV systems (solar desirable, not essential)
- Diagnose and resolve electrical and control faults efficiently
- Ensure all work complies with BS 7671 (18th Edition Wiring Regulations) and relevant safety standards
- Complete accurate job documentation and communicate clearly with the wider team

Requirements
Skills & Qualifications
Essential:
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent)
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- Proven, hands-on experience with heating controls
- Full competence in spurs, thermostats, S-plan, Y-plan, and full system wiring
- Experience in domestic and/or commercial environments
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- ECS/JIB card
- Inspection & Testing qualification (2391 or equivalent)
- Knowledge of electrical supplies for heat pumps and solar PV systems
