What happens next

Somebody reads it, and somebody comes back to you

Enquiries go to the office rather than into a queue nobody owns. Whoever picks it up will come back to agree a time, and if what you have described needs more information before anybody can price it, they will ask rather than send a number that turns out to be wrong.

For anything that needs an engineer to see it, we will say so plainly rather than quote blind. A great deal of heating work cannot be priced from a description - a boiler replacement depends on the heat loss of the property, whether the existing pipework and radiators suit the system, and where the flue can terminate compliantly. A quotation produced without those is a guess with a decimal point in it.

What we will not do is give you a response time we cannot keep. We will tell you honestly when an engineer can reach you, which is more useful than a headline figure that turns out not to apply to your postcode.

  • Enquiries answered through the working day
  • A time agreed rather than a window you have to wait through
  • No pricing from a description where the description cannot support it
  • An honest answer on timing, including when it is not soon

Four things that make an enquiry easy to price

The address, because it decides who can attend and when. The appliance make and model, if you can see it on the front panel - it saves a great deal of guessing about parts and availability. What it is actually doing, described plainly: losing pressure, short-cycling, throwing a fault code, making a noise it did not make last year.

And a deadline if you have one. A tenancy start date, a completion date, or a boiler that has already failed in a house with a young child in it are all things that change how an enquiry is prioritised - but only if we know about them.

If you can smell gas, do not use this page at all. Turn the supply off at the meter if you can reach it safely, open the windows, leave the electrics alone and call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999. It is free and staffed day and night.

  • The property address, and how to get in
  • The appliance make and model if you can see it
  • What it is doing, in ordinary words
  • Any deadline - a tenancy start, a completion, a failed boiler in winter

Common questions

I can smell gas - what do I do?

Do not use this page. Turn the gas off at the meter if you can reach it safely, open the windows, do not touch any electrical switches, and call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999. It is free, it is staffed day and night, and they will make it safe.

How quickly will somebody get back to me?

The office answers enquiries through the working day and will come back to you to agree a time. We do not publish a response time we cannot guarantee - if it is urgent, calling is always faster than a form.

Do you charge for a quotation?

No. What we will not do is quote a boiler over the phone without knowing the heat loss of the property, the existing pipework and where the flue can terminate, because a number produced without those is a guess.

What areas do you cover?

We work across the UK. Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and the surrounding counties are closest to our base so we are there regularly; everywhere else is planned work rather than same-day.

Can I get a copy of a certificate you issued?

Yes. Call or email with the address and roughly when the work was done - records are stored digitally, so it is a matter of minutes.

Do you work with landlords and letting agents?

Regularly. For portfolios we run a single schedule with renewal reminders and arrange access with tenants directly, so a gas safety record never lapses because a date passed unnoticed.

Would rather just get a quote?

The booking form walks through what you need and where, one question at a time, and takes a couple of minutes.
