Gas Network - Supervisor

We're looking for an experienced Gas Network Supervisor to take ownership of the planning, coordination and safe delivery of our:
- Service and main laying teams - gas mains and service installation/replacement
- Riser teams - installation of above-ground steel gas pipework to meter banks and risers on blocks of flats
You'll be the operational lead who keeps these teams productive, compliant and well-planned - balancing programme, resource, materials and safety across a busy, geographically spread workload.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule and resource daily and weekly works across service, main laying and riser teams
- Supervise, mentor and manage the performance of field operatives and gangs
- Oversee above-ground steel gas pipework installation to meter banks and risers on multi-occupancy blocks
- Ensure all works meet GDN, streetworks and CDM requirements, plus UGS's own HSEQ standards
- Carry out site visits, audits, quality checks and toolbox talks across London, the South East and East Anglia
- Manage materials, plant and subcontractor coordination to keep programmes on track
- Liaise with clients, network operators and internal teams on progress, issues and delivery
- Support commercial delivery - productivity, right-first-time and job profitability
What We're Looking For
- Proven supervisory experience within gas network / mains / service laying and above-ground steel riser installation
- Strong technical knowledge of gas network operations and steel pipework to meter banks/risers
- Relevant network qualifications (e.g. NCO mainlaying/service laying, EUSR SHEA Gas)
- NRSWA / streetworks qualification and understanding of CDM
- Ability to plan and coordinate multiple teams across a wide geographic patch
- Full UK driving licence
- Confident, organised leader who can hold teams to standard while getting the best out of them
